Amy and Tammy Slaton are two sisters from Kentucky sharing their weight struggles and personalities on their YouTube channel: @Amy Slaton-Halterman and now TLC’s 1000-lb Sisters.
Together they weighed over 1000 pounds combined, TLC follows The Slaton Sisters through the challenge of losing enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery with Dr. Procter.
Amy – succeeds at her goal of weight loss, whereas Tammy does not. There are many reasons for this – but we’ll just be discussing the role of “Attitude” in weight loss.
We’ll be discussing the Slaton sisters differences in focus, effort, and perseverance – and how these differences lead them to either success or failure.

My calorie range for the day is 1200-1550, I’m 5’7 with a pretty sedentary life (work from home) and then I have more on the weekends to balance it out. Some days I go over, some under – just trying to set a guideline for myself but I’m not incredibly strict.
